Talk To Me — Audio to Text
Talk To Me turns speech into text entirely on your Android phone. Record with the microphone and stop whenever you’re done, or share any audio file into it from another app — either way the transcript is produced on the device, with no account and no server involved.
Recordings are saved the instant you stop and transcribe in the background, so you can put your phone away and get a notification when the text is ready. Once the speech model is installed, everything works with no connection at all.
Privacy at a glance
Transcribed on your phone
Speech becomes text on the device itself, using an on-device speech model. Your audio is never uploaded to anyone, including us.
One network request, ever
The first transcription downloads the speech model once over HTTPS from a public Hugging Face model repository. The request says nothing about you, and nothing else is ever sent.
Encrypted where it sits
Transcripts are stored in a database that is encrypted at rest, in storage other apps cannot read, and excluded from cloud backup.
No account, no analytics
There is no sign-up, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. We operate no server and receive nothing about you.

Good to know
- Speech recognition is English only, with automatic punctuation.
- Requires Android 13 or newer.
- The one-time speech model download is about 660 MB — Wi-Fi is recommended, and there is a setting to hold it until you are on one.
